Chef 360 Platform 1.4.1

Support

With this release, we’re discontinuing support for Chef 360 Platform versions 1.4.0 and earlier.

New features

The Chef 360 Platform UI now includes screens to help you manage application keys and enable node self-enrollment.

Improvements

• We removed dependencies on Bitnami for specific images to comply with Bitnami’s license changes.
• You can now update a node’s cohort through the Chef 360 Platform UI.
• Login usernames are now case-insensitive.
• Chef 360 Platform no longer rotates SSL certificates for deployments with system-generated certificates during redeployment or upgrade.

Bug fixes

• Node self-enrollment scripts no longer require a port number to be included with the FQDN.

New features

• The Chef Declarative State Management (DSM) service is now included in Chef 360 Platform.

  Chef DSM acts as a central repository for configuration data. It manages cookbooks, policies, and metadata for nodes managed by Chef Infra Client. DSM enables nodes to efficiently request and receive configuration details, ensuring streamlined deployment and management processes. For more information, see the Chef DSM documentation.

• You can now perform node enrollment using a binary executable directly from the nodes.

• All tables can now be exported as CSV files through the Chef 360 Platform UI.

Improvements

• Courier now supports a larger number of parallel jobs.

Preview features

• An Ansible interpreter is now available to execute Ansible playbooks in a Courier job. For more information, see the Ansible interpreter documentation.
